Notes From the Burning Age Overview

Claire North's post-apocalyptic novel Notes From the Burning Age takes place in the future after cataclysmic events have wiped out most of civilization. Officials from a civilian government and a religious organization make the decisions for everyone, limiting information to ensure humans do not return to the industry, technology, and social attitudes that almost destroyed the world. When a group known as the Brotherhood rises up, a priest named Ven leads the fight to eliminate this threat. The most important themes of this novel are morality, religious beliefs, the inevitability of change, learning from the past, and the rights of the individual.
