Manifestation refers to a concept of either recurring or transitive phenomena, as instances which become "manifest" or "realised."
- In Medicine, what's a menifestation? the term refers to the symptoms or observable conditions which are seen as a result of some disease. A disease can be separated into etiology and manifestation, which, simplistically, correspond respectively to cause and effect.
- Manifesting is a term often used in New Thought and New Age circles to refer to the belief that one can by force of will, desire, and focused energy, make something come true on the physical level. For example, the Indian guru Sathya Sai Baba is famous for allegedly manifesting objects out of thin air. See also: Materialization (paranormal), Thoughtform and Law of Attraction.
- In the mystical traditions, the manifest, or being, is that which exists. This is as opposed by the unmanifest. Both of these categories are included in the nondual.
- Members of the Bahá'í Faith commonly use the term manifestation where others use the term prophet. See also Manifestation of God
