L.A.-based private detective Elvis Cole is helping his longtime girlfriend Lucy Chenier move into her new apartment when he gets a phone call from his partner Joe Pike. Pike says that local celebrity Frank Garcia fears that his daughter has been kidnapped. Cole leaves for Garcia's house, where the man describes Karen's disappearance the day before. She went running around Lake Hollywood and never came back. Cole is certain that she simply forgot to come by her father's house, but Garcia insists that his daughter is in trouble. (read more)
