Julie of the Wolves Overview

Julie of the Wolves is an award-winning novel by author Jean Craighead George, who has authored more than 60 children’s books. In this novel, Miyax, who is also Julie, which is her American name, is an Eskimo daughter of a great hunter, her father Kapugen. The author is the narrator of the story and takes readers through the journey that Miyax takes when she runs away from her husband, Daniel in the town of Barrow, and heads across the arctic tundra, to reach a boat that will take her to San Francisco.
