Iron Horse Middle School is located in San Ramon, California in the Silicon Valley. Iron Horse is in front of the Iron Horse Trail.The Jaguar is the mascot of Iron Horse. As of the 2005-06 school year, the school had an enrollment of 961 students and 37.7 classroom teachers (on a FTE basis, for a student-teacher ratio of 25.5.[1] Iron Horse's video production class has a TV show called 'Mornings at Iron Horse' which is broadcast throughout the school.

During the 1001-02 and 2006-07 school years, Iron Horse Middle School was recognized with the Blue Ribbon School Award of Excellence by the United States Department of Education[2][3][4], the highest award an American school can receive.[5][6]
