Imagine Me Gone by Adam Haslett is the story of a nuclear family who works to save John (the father) and Michael (the eldest son) from the ravages of mental illness. Ironically, though both family members succumb to the illness, they manage to help the surviving members by giving them the ability to move on in life with just themselves.
