Imaginary Friend: A Novel Overview

Imaginary Friend is a horror mystery novel by Stephen Chbosky. The story follows a seven-year-old boy, Christopher Reese, as he befriends a spiritual entity called the Nice Man. The Nice Man instructs Christopher to build a treehouse in the woods of the small, isolated town of Mill Grove. Christopher and his mother, Kate, have just moved to town after escaping Kate's abusive ex-boyfriend. The treehouse functions as a portal between two worlds: the Imaginary and the Real. However the Nice Man is not exactly what he appears to be, and soon Christopher is caught in the middle of a war between good and evil.
