Iceberg Summary

A ship has been entombed in ice, but what originally appears to be a natural result of a fire in the frigid north Atlantic soon is identified as murder and cover-up. Major Dirk Pitt is assigned by Admiral Sandecker to investigate and search for a missing undersea probe invented by the now deceased Kristjan Fyrie. Pitt and scientist Bill Hunnewell locate the ship in the iceberg and investigate but discover more questions than answers.

As Pitt and Hunnewell attempt to fly to Iceland to continue the investigation, their helicopter engages in an air battle with a mysterious black jet. Pitt causes the black jet to crash, but the helicopter crashes as well and Hunnewell is killed.
