Holy Lands Overview
This epistolary narrative explores the late-in-life experiences of retired Jewish cardiologist Harry Rosenmerck, who has recently moved to Israel and begun raising pigs. As Harry deals with local tensions associated with his new enterprise, he also deals with tensions arising from his longer-distance relationships with family. The story of how all these tensions ebb and flow develops themes associated with different sorts of violence, and the parallels between global and personal conflict.
