Heartless, by Marissa Meyer, is a young adult novel that tells the story of the Catherine, Queen of Hearts before she became the Queen. Meyer imagines the back story for one of Lewis Carroll’s most famous characters from his beloved book Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
