Contents

Synopsis

An evil witch from a fairy tale tries to increase her power by trapping the Charmed Ones in warped versions of classic fairy tales. Phoebe attends a formal ball as Cinderella and meets an evil Prince Charming, Paige takes a bite from a poisoned apple and becomes a princeless Snow White, and Piper has a nasty confrontation with a big bad wolf just as Little Red Riding Hood did.

Book of Shadows

Enemies

  • Fairy Tale Wicked Witch: the living embodiment of all the wicked witches spoken of in classic fairy tales. Grams must have dealt with her before, as she created a vanquishing potion just for her.

Allies

  • Keeper of the Tales: keeps all of the old fairy tale items safe without anyone knowing where it is, even the Elders don't know.

Spells

  • Poison Antidote Spell: Hear our call for those who fall. Purge her to awaken from this toxic taken.
  • To Trap In a Mirror: Freedom's lost, must be unwitting. Into the glass, to do my bidding.

Trivia

  • The episode title refers to the phrase that commonly ends fairy tales. It is usually used in the context that the good characters in the tale lived happily for the remainder of their lives.
  • Among the Fairy Tale artifacts in the Keeper's store room are: the oil lamp from "Aladdin", the glass slippers and magic pumpkin from "Cinderella", the poisoned apple and the magic mirror (and the witch) from "Snow White", the red cape and woodsman's axe from "Little Red Riding Hood", the magic rose and case from "Beauty and the Beast", a bowl of porridge from "Goldilocks and the Three Bears", the ruby slippers from "The Wizard of Oz", a pair of scissors from "Rumplestiltskin", a harp (possibly from "Jack and the Beanstalk") and a Nutcracker (probably from "The Nutcracker.")
  • The actor Danny Woodburn, who plays the head Dwarf, later returns playing the same role in the episode Oh My Goddess, Pt 1 and Sword and the City.
  • Actors Alyssa Milano and Sean Patrick Flanery worked on two projects together previous to the filming of this episode: Diamond Hunters in 2001 and Kiss the Bride in 2002.
  • Paige dies for the first time.
  • Piper said she failed in summoning Grams with the Summoning Spell, but has and will use it several times with success.
  • Grams made a potion to vanquish The Wicked Witch.
  • When Phoebe is possessed by the Cinderella shoes, she accidentally walks in front of a cab in which she says "I'm walking here!". this is similar to Sandra Bullock in Miss Congeniality except Sandra says "I'm gliding here!". This quote is originally from the movie Midnight Cowboy, spoken by Dustin Hoffman.
  • In the original book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the slippers were silver, not red.
  • After Piper throws the Vanquishing Potion in her, the Wicked Witch melts just like the Wicked Witch of the West melted in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
  • Leo says that fairy tales are actual events that happened. This is also proved in the season 4 episode "A Knight to Remember" when Paige's favourite fairytale turns out to be her past life.
  • Demons would also use a fairytale for evil in the season 8 episode "Malice in Wonderland".
  • The girls were affected by the following fairy tales: Phoebe- Cinderella, Piper- Little Red Riding Hood, and Paige- Snow White.
  • Paige for the very first time met her grandmother, better known as "Grams".
  • Grams revealed that she can spy on living people from the afterlife, and that she's been spying on Paige.
