Hamilton: The Revolution Overview

This book follows two structural lines. The first is a collection of essays on the creation and development of the hit musical “Hamilton," with the focus of each essay linked directly to elements of a particular scene and/or song in the show: the second is the actual text of the show itself. The essays follow a rough chronological structure (i.e. from the show’s original inception through to its opening night on Broadway) that parallels the show’s overall narrative structure (i.e. from the beginning of Hamilton’s political career through to his death). Both narrative lines explore thematic questions looking at how stories become history, how perspective defines story, and the nature and function of collaboration.
