Good Company Overview

Part love-letter to the New York stage and part Hollywood roman-à-clef, Cynthia D'Aprix Sweeney's 2021 novel Good Company traces the ups and downs of 20 years of marriage and friendship among its main characters. It begins with Flora's discovery of her husband Julian's affair one idyllic summer years earlier. This upheaval forces Flora to reconcile the betrayal of her best friend Margot, a famous TV star and old friend of Julian's who helped him to keep his secret. Told from a multiple of perspectives, and full of inside humor, mordant irony and fierce honesty, Good Company also considers themes like rivalry, kismet, and therapy.
