Gary Burton (born Mark Shaw in 19??) is a British disc jockey. A former presenter with BBC 6 Music, he currently hosts the Breakfast Show on 106.6 Smooth Radio in Nottingham. His radio career began with Radio Link, Derby's hospital radio service, where he broadcast using his real name. However, when he later moved to Radio Trent, Len Groat, the station's boss, was keen to give him a more "radio friendly" name, and so he became Gary Burton. His credits include hosting Trent's Breakfast Show, a stint with Century 106, and some time with Kiss 102 in Manchester (where he presented the station's inaugural programme). He was also a long term presenter on the BBC's digital radio station, BBC 6 Music, where he hosted its Night Train show. Since leaving BBC 6 Music, he has returned to local radio, working at Heart 106 and Saga 106.6 FM among others. He has been Smooth Radio's breakfast presenter in the East Midlands since the station's launch in March 2007.
