Full Circle Overview

“Full Circle” is a short story by Edith Wharton. It was published in Tales of Ghosts and Men (a collection of some of Wharton’s short stories) in the year 1910. The story follows Geoffrey Betton, a man who recently became wealthy due to the unexpected success of his first novel. Betton decides to hires a secretary, and he is surprised when an old friend of his name Duncan Vyse applies for the job. Unlike Betton, Vyse’s life has been defined by consistent failure and misfortune. The story explores themes of ego, money, and deceit.
