  • Vanilla Frosty Float - The Vanilla Frosty Float is a root beer float style dessert. The float is made with a choice of soda - some Wendy's have Pepsi products as others have Coke, and then topped with the Frosty dessert. Sold only in a 20 oz size.[2]
  • Twisted Frosty - A mix-in dessert made with either Oreo bits or M&Ms. They are served in a 12 oz size and come pre-mixed, with what is generally used as a flurry machine.

History

When the first Wendy's opened in 1969, chocolate was the only flavor available. The actual flavor of the original Frosty is a mixture of chocolate and vanilla. Dave Thomas thought that 100% chocolate was too overpowering a flavor when paired with a Wendy's burger and fries meal. The second Frosty flavor, vanilla, was introduced in 2006. The dessert is available in four sizes: Jr. (6 oz.), small (12 oz.), medium (16 oz.), and large (20 oz.). Frosties are served at 20 °F +/-1 ideally.[1]

From May 2007 to July 2007, Wendy's offered customers the chance to win a Wii console, or other prizes if they bought a float. Over 800 Wii consoles and other Wii related prizes were awarded. To win, customers were required to enter a code from their cup on the Wendy's website.
