Diane Neal (born November 17, 1976 in Alexandria, Virginia) is an American actress widely known for her role as Casey Novak on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She had previously appeared in the Season Three episode "Ridicule" as high-powered female rapist Amelia Chase before joining the main cast as their ADA. Neal's family moved to Colorado when she was young. She attended college as a pre-medical major but dropped out to pursue a modeling career. Neal studied archaeology in Israel and Egypt. She was also a competitive ice skater at one point. Neal is the youngest of three sisters and has been married to Marcus Fitzgerald since July 9, 2005. Fitzgerald and Neal got engaged two weeks after their first date. They were engaged for seven years before getting married.
