Dawson Turner (18 October 1775 - 21 June 1858) was an English banker, botanist and antiquary.

Early life
Turner was the son of James Turner and Elizabeth Cotman, the only daughter of the mayor of Yarmouth John Cotman.
Career
He was taught by the botanist Robert Forby.
Personal life
In 1796 he married Mary Palgrave and they had 11 children:
- Maria Dawson Turner (1797–1872), married William Jackson Hooker
- Harriet Turner (1806–1869), married John Gunn the clergyman-naturalist
- Elizabeth Turner (1799–1852), married Francis Palgrave (né Cohen), who took the Palgrave upon conversion to Christianity.
- Eleanor Jane Turner (1811–1895), the youngest daughter, married William Jacobson.
- Dawson William Turner (1815-1885), their only son, was an educationalist.
- six further children.
Later life
Turner died in 1858, and is buried in Brompton Cemetery, London.
