Charlotte Oelschlagel (AKA Charlotte Hayward), was a young German skater. In 1915 she was the first performer to star in a Broadway ice show. She was also the first skater to star in a motion picture, which was made in 1916 The Frozen Warning. For most of her life she used only her first name. She invented the death spiral and the candlestick spiral (also known as a charlotte). 1985 World Hall of Fame member[1]
