Carl Wieland is an Australian Young Earth Creationist, author, and speaker. He is currently the Managing Director of Creation Ministries International (formerly Answers in Genesis - Australia), a Christian apologetics ministry. CMI is one of the world's leading creationist organisations with offices in six countries, and are the distributors of Creation magazine and the Journal of Creation.

Biography

In 1978, Wieland founded the family-oriented, evangelical magazine Ex Nihilo (later called Creation Ex Nihilo, and now simply called Creation. Creation magazine is published by the Australian office of Creation Ministries International and now has subscribers in over 140 countries. Wieland is a medical doctor graduating from Adelaide University in South Australia, but stopped practising as a medicine in 1986.[1] This was due to an accident Wieland was in with "a fully laden fuel tanker at highway speeds."[2] He endured five and a half months in hospital and has undergone more than fifty operations, as discussed in his book, Walking Through Shadows.[3] He is also the past-president of the Christian Medical Fellowship of South Australia. Today Wieland maintains an active speaking and writing schedule, as well as editing Creation magazine and his role as CEO of CMI Australia. Like all creation scientists Wieland's interpretation of evidence is controversial both inside and outside the scientific community.
