Calling Me Home Overview

"Calling Me Home" tells two stories, that of Isabelle McAllister in 1939 and Dorrie Curtis in 2014. Isabelle is a 90-year-old white woman who has asked Dorrie, a middle-age black woman, to bring her from Texas to Ohio for a funeral. On their road trip, Isabelle tells the story of how she fell in love with a black man in 1939 Kentucky, and Dorrie tries to figure out how to piece together her life from here on out.
