Brain on Fire is the story of 24-year-old Susannah Cahalan's "month of madness." In 2009, Susannah was a reporter at The New York Post and she was dating a young man named Stephen. Suddenly she began having seizures and strange symptoms that made her seem to be mentally ill. Doctors disagreed as to whether her illness was a mental illness or some type of encephalitis. Brain on Fire is the story of the diagnosis of her disease and her recovery.
