All About Eve Summary
When All About Eve begins, a man speaks about the Sarah Sidons Award. An older gentleman, an actor, is speaking at the awards ceremony. The minor awards for writer and director have already been awarded, but Eve, All about Eve, will be discussed later. The man introduces himself as Addison DeWitt, a critic and commentator. Addison is there with Karen Richards, the wife of playwright Lloyd Richards. Margo Channing is also there, and she is one of the best actresses of his time. Finally, the man up front begins to present the award to Miss Eve Harrington, a young woman who has spent her life wanting to make it on the stage.
Eve is the girl-next-door and has been the fascination of the public. DeWitt says that everyone believes they know all about Eve, and asks what they don't know. Karen begins thinking of...
