Albion is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. A subdivision of Sunshine it is bordered on the north by the Western Highway, the south by Forrest St, the west by Kororoit Creek and the east by Anderson Rd. Its Local Government Area is the City of Brimbank and it is located 13-14km from the Melbourne CBD. Albion has many period homes such as California bungalows and 1940's houses. The suburb has its own railway station which is in both Metcard zone 1 and zone 2. Buses include those servicing the station and those going out to west towards Caroline Springs as well buses towards Highpoint Shopping Centre and central Sunshine.

History

The area was originally called Darlington, until about 1890. The area originally known as Albion lies further east, south of the Western Highway and west of Duke Street, an area now known as Sunshine East.

Kororoit Creek

The Kororoit Creek runs through Albion. The Kororoit Creek Trail is one of the areas hidden treasures boasting wide open park space and native vegetation rarely seen so close to the Melbourne CBD. In October 2007 John Brumby announced that funding would be provided to link the Kororoit Creek Trail to the Federation Trail joining together two great western suburb bike paths.
