In A Fatal Grace by Louise Penny, Chief Inspector Armand Gamache has been called to the fairy tale town of Three Pines to investigate an unusual murder. CC de Poitiers, a relatively new resident to Three Pines, was electrocuted during the annual Christmas curling match. In additon to CC de Poitiers' demise, a vagrant woman from Montreal was found dead. Gamache delves into the backgrounds of the two ladies in an effort to discover their connections to Three Pines and to each other. Themes in the novel include the power of words, the reality of both good and evil in the world, and the prevalence of mental illness.
