A Day in the Death of Joe Egg Overview

In Peter Nichols' play entitled A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, Bri and Sheila spend their married life caring for their severely physically and mentally disabled daughter, Joe. Because they perform the same tasks daily to care for her, their life is like a play, a dark comedy they perform for the acknowledged audience with candor and humor. When Bri decides he cannot play the role of Joe's father for another night, he attempts to end the play by ending his daughter's life.
